EMERGENCY SHUT DOWN
Water - Find your water meter. It will be near
the front of your house, in the basement or a laundry room (99% of the time). Turn water off (round handle - turn to right;
lever handle - push or lift 1/2 turn, making it go the opposite direction of the pipe). This will turn the water off to your
house. Turn on a faucet to make sure your valve is working. If your valve is not working, call your city or village
to shut off the water at their valve in front of your house.
Sewer - If you have any kind of clog or sewer
back up, stop running water and laundry. If the problem persists and you have an ejector pump in a lower level (it will be
a sealed pit) unplug it. If the problem persists call your city or village to see if their sewer is backing up into your home.
